Camp: Team is progressing well

AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Lee Camp has been pleased with the way the side has developed during the Cherries first season in the Championship.

Camp initially made the move to Dean Court on 28 day loan in October and went on to impress during his spell on the south coast, which saw his loan spell extended to coincide with the expiry of his contract with West Brom.

Camp played 11 times for the Cherries during his loan spell, before he signed a permanent two and a half year deal in January.

Since signing a permanent deal Camp has made a further 14 appearances and from those 25 games, the Cherries have kept 6 clean sheets, with 5 of those coming this month.

That improvement in defence has seen AFC Bournemouth take 13 points from their last 6 outings and climb the Championship table from 17th to 11th.

Camp told the Daily Echo...

"The team is progressing well after that period of transition which all teams tend to have coming into a fiercely competitive league like the Championship...'

'...If you`re going to be successful at this level, it`s about being solid first and striking a balance.

"We have to accept, with the way we play, that we will susceptible to the odd counter-attack and, perhaps, we do leave ourselves a little bit open by attacking in the manner that we do.

"But I have never played in a side that has been able to dominate possession and create the kind of chances we do...'
