Howe: Ward and Daniels are on track

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that both Elliott Ward and Charlie Daniels are still on target for their original return dates.

The defensive duo haven't featured for the Cherries since their respected injuries six weeks ago.

Daniels suffered a thigh injury against Huddersfield on the 28th January, whilst Ward damaged his knee four days later when he collided with an advertising board during the game with Leicester City at Dean Court.

Both have shown good progress during their rehabilitation programmes, with the pair both travelling to Rome to visit the Villa Stuart Sport Clinic.

Despite the duo both experiencing minor scares, Howe believes the pair are both on target to return when first thought, with Ward hoping to step up his training next week.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Elliott has moved along quite quickly and we have been really pleased with his rehab.

"He had a little bit of stiffness in one of his calves but he seems to have come through that okay and we are hopeful he is not too far away...'

'...We were worried (Charlie Daniels) had had a little setback but, hopefully, we have been given good news on that and he will be able to step up his rehab. I still think he is probably a couple of weeks from training.

"They are both probably on track for what we said originally which is good news because they are two big players for us. It would be great to have them both fit and we are hopeful they will be in the not too distant future.
