Francis: Happy to get the point

AFC Bournemouth defender Simon Francis was happy to score the goal that secured a well earned point for the Cherries away to Bolton.

The Cherries came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Bolton's Reebok Stadium, with goals from Lewis Grabban and Simon Francis.

While Lewis Grabban's name might be a regular name on the scoresheet, with 13 goals in 28 Championship appearances this season, Simon Francis isn't renowned for his goals.

It was Francis' first goal since October 2012 and only his second in 112 appearances for the Cherries.

Francis told BBC Radio Solent...

'We've been working on it in training, If Hartey under hits a cross, which he rarely does as his deliveries are absolutely top drawer, then i'll be the one to get across the front post man.

'He wasn't the tallest, I think it was Spearing, so I knew I'd have a chance if Hartey did under hit one. Luckily he really under hit it so I had to get as low as I could, but I managed to flick it.

'I didn't know it was my goal until the lads said. I thought i'd just helped it on and someone else had poked it in but I am happy to get the goal, but more importantly get the point.'
