Elphick: No fear against Liverpool is key

AFC Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick believes that the Cherries cannot afford to offer to much respect to Liverpool.

The Cherries host the Premier League giants at Dean Court on Saturday, with the game selected for terrestrial television coverage on ITV.

The former 18 time league champions, 7 time FA Cup winners, 8 times League Cup winners and 5 time European Cup holders currently boast one of their best squads in recent history.

Up until as recently as Christmas, Liverpool were top of the Premier League table, while Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is the top flights leading scorer with 22 goals in just 17 appearances this season.

Elphick believes the Cherries can learn a lot from their illustrious opponents, but shouldn't afford them to much respect.

Elphick told liverpoolfc.com...

'We aspire to be like Liverpool so it's a good time to play them to see how far off we are, There's a lot to learn from a team like Liverpool and a manager like Brendan Rodgers.

'The key is having no fear. If you give them too much respect they will hurt you.'

'Luis Suarez is one of the best three players in the world. To be on the pitch with him will be a privilege,'
