Pugh: It`s up to me to knuckle down

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Marc Pugh is aiming to win his place back in the Cherries starting line up.

Following the form of wingers Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser, Marc Pugh has been forced to sit on the bench during the last three Championship fixtures.

With Mohamed Coulibaly also returning to fitness, the competition for places amongst the Cherries squad is strong.

But Pugh is determined to fight for his place and battle as the Cherries enjoy a good run of form.

Pugh told afcb.co.uk...

"I`m disappointed not to be starting at the moment but I know that it`s a squad game, I`ve just got to work hard to get back in the team because Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser have been doing well recently. I can`t have any complaints and it`s up to me to knuckle down now.

"I thought I did well in the games against Sheffield Wednesday and Reading, but everyone has been training well and the lads did well to get back-to-back wins.

"It`s looking good for us as a team now in a vital part of the season, so we have got to look to push on.

"With a bit of luck and a good performance at Brighton we could be five or six points off the play-offs, and hopefully I can play a part in helping us do that."
