McQuoid: Ready at all times

AFC Bournemouth attacker Josh McQuoid has declared that he is ready to step into the side when the chance comes.

The Northern Ireland international made his first appearance for the Cherries this season, stepping into midfield replacing the suspended Harry Arter.

It meant there was a slight switch in the midfield, with Andrew Surman dropping a little deeper, for McQuoid to play behind lead striker Lewis Grabban.

Considering this was his first appearance in eight months it was solid enough and he came through the game without any problems.

McQuoid told afcb.co.uk...

"It was really good for me to finally get back out there and come through the game with no injuries, With Harry (Arter) being suspended and Shaun (MacDonald) being 50-50, I wasn`t sure what was going to happen but I thought there was a chance I could be involved...'

"...I definitely feel there is more to come from me. I`m not going to get ahead of myself and I`ve just got to keep on pushing forward and aiming for a place in the team.

"It`s a big time now for the club because there are a lot of games in the next few weeks. There are going to be injuries and suspensions, so you have to be ready at all times."
