Daniels: Kicking off Christmas with a win

AFC Bournemouth left back Charlie Daniels was pleased to kick off the Christmas period with a victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

But with back to back home games coming at Dean Court, the target is to improve the home form first against Yeovil Town on Boxing Day and then against Ipswich on Sunday.

Eddie Howe's AFC Bournemouth started the new Championship campaign with a good home record, with three wins from the first four matches at Dean Court.

But the Cherries are now without a win in four matches at home, with the last victory coming against Millwall in October and the last clean sheet coming against Barnsley in September.

If AFC Bournemouth can turn around the home form, Daniels believes that the Cherries could quickly climb back up the table.

'We wanted to get off to a good start going into the Christmas period and it was important that we won, Of course we want to improve our home record, but when we play away it`s up to the home teams to go for it and it`s a different mind-set.

'When teams come to us, they are more defensive and we need to break them down. It`s something that we have found tough to do, so we have to try and put that right on Boxing Day.

'If we can get a run going over Christmas, then there`s no reason why we can`t shoot up the table and get ourselves back up into the top half.'
