Howe: Looking at permanent deal for Camp

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that the Cherries are considering offering loanee 'keeper Lee Camp permanent deal on the south coast.

Camp initially joined the Cherries on a 28 day loan spell from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on 31st October, but that deal was later extended ahead of the loan window closing until New Years Day 2014, when his contract with West Brom expires.

The 29 year old shotstopper made the move to Dean Court boasting a huge amount of first team experience, with almost four hundred first team appearances for the likes of Derby County, Queens Park Rangers and Nottingham Forest, while last season he also made three appearances for Norwich City in the Premier League.

He joined West Brom on transfer deadline day signing a rolling monthly contract until January as cover for Ben Foster, but failed to make an appearance before his loan to Dean Court.

Camp has already expressed his interest in the possibility of staying, whilst Howe has confirmed it is something the club are looking at.

So far this season he has made seven appearances for the Cherries.

Howe told BBC Radio Solent...

'Lee has done brilliantly for us. He's a very confident character,'

'He has come in and you can see he has got that Championship experience behind him, nothing phases him.

'His distribution from the back has been key to our recent performances so it's certainly something we will look at.'

Apart from saving the ball, I notice his main quality is quick and intelligent distribution of the ball allowing counter-attacks.
RedFlash
Exactly right Redflash he is a quality, intelligent pro. A shot stopper of this calibre usually found in the better teams so well done us for having the desire. Now we need the same in other departments. Maybe McQ fully fit will make the difference in attacking options (that would be a remarkable comeback), the intelligent distribution you speak of would be an asset for McQ's flare and other faster moving players....
