Tindall: We are absolutely delighted

AFC Bournemouth assistant manager Jason Tindall was delighted with a 'fantastic' performance against Reading.

The former Premier League side enjoyed the majority of the possession and dominated the early stages of the game, but failed to work Lee Camp in the Cherries goal.

A Billy Sharp header was the only effort on target for Reading, but his effort was cleared off the line. As the Cherries absorbed all the pressure from the home side, AFC Bournemouth began to threaten on the counter and Lewis Grabban opened the scoring to silence the home support.

Four minutes later and Matt Ritchie further stunned the crowd doubling the Cherries lead to give Eddie Howe's men a 2-0 lead at the break.

With Reading changing their system at half time to chase the game, this gave AFC Bournemouth more of a chance to put their stamp on the game and it was the away side that enjoyed the majority of chances in front of goal.

A late last minute consolation from Adam Le Fondre was missed by a large section of the home crowd who had already departed, clearly unhappy at losing their first home game of the season.

Tindall told BBC Radio Solent...

"It was a terrific result, but not only that it was a fantastic performance, We were disappointed with our defensive performance at QPR, but I thought our back four were magnificent.

"They restricted them to a few chances and we looked like a threat every time we went forward.

"We`ve had disappointing results in the last few weeks, but we feel we`ve done well in large periods of those games even if we haven`t got what we deserved.

"We asked the players before the game to put together a similar performance and the they delivered a complete performance. We are absolutely delighted."
