Howe: Fraser is all about explosive pace

AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has been withdrawn from the Scottish Under 21 squad.

The Cherries midfielder had been included in the squad to face Georgia this (Thursday) evening in Scotland's European Under 21's Championship qualifier, but due to his lack of fitness he was withdrawn from the squad.

It's Fraser's second withdrawal from the international set up in recent weeks, having previously injured his hamstring whilst training with Scotland several weeks ago.

Despite returning to action against Leicester and Bolton, he had failed to perform to his eye catching best and was not included for the recent draw at Burnley.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Ryan had a spell on the sidelines and I think it affected him slightly in terms of fitness levels.

"He is the type of player who needs to be really fit and really sharp because his game is all about explosive pace.

"If you take away 10 per cent of his fitness, I don`t think you get the same player so we have been trying to build him back up to where he was before the injury."
