AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn hopes that the "marriage made in heaven" between the Cherries and manager Eddie Howe will continue for many years to come.
Following the departure of Tony Mowbray at Middlesbrough, Eddie Howe is already the 41st longest serving manager in the country and the 7th longest serving manager in the Championship after a little over one year into his second stint as manager at Dean Court.
In the Football League the average time a manager gets in the job is somewhere between 12 and 18 months, with such a turnover, there is usually a club somewhere looking for a new manager.
During his time spent on the FA Council and Football League Board, Mostyn has admitted that he has been asked if the Cherries can keep hold of their manager after Howe earned a second promotion with the club.
Mostyn told the Daily Echo...
"I was at a Football League board meeting recently and two of the directors said to me 'Are you going to be able to keep him?` That is the question people ask me everywhere I go. People are interested in Eddie because he sits at the top of the pile.
"He is young, he is articulate and he has this insatiable appetite to learn about all aspects of the game. He works hard to improve his own techniques and coaching strategies.
"He is highly motivational, he has a great work ethic and he is respected by the players, the coaches and the staff. He is a perfectionist and he is innovative. If you add up all those ingredients, he is going to be the desire of most football clubs.
"We will hopefully achieve everything that he wants to achieve and, as a consequence of that, we hope that the marriage will continue."
