Cherries Away Days: Nottm Forest

Cherries Away Days: Nottm Forest

Ahead of AFC Bournemouth's trip to Nottingham for Saturday's Championship clash against Forest, AFCB Vital spoke to Vital Forest to give us a little preview of what to expect.

Any tips on getting to and from the ground?

Anyone arriving by coach will be escorted straight to the ground.

For parking, follow signs for Victoria Embankment or County Hall. As with all football stadia, getting out afterwards is a biatch!

Where are the best places for a pre-match drink for away supporters?

Away fan friendly pubs around the City Ground are few, but The Meadow Club opens on match days and welcomes visiting fans. If you have the time and especially if you're coming by train, Hooters is always worth sampling. Both establishments can be found on the following map. click here.

There's also a pub on Trent Bridge called the Embankment. They 'sometimes' allow away fans in, but depends on the mood of the doormen and also what the fixture is. You guys have a good reputation, so I'd think you'd be in luck.

For those who haven't been before, what's your ground like for away supporters?

I only know what I've read from other fans. Many say our stewards are over zealous. Many home fans say the same. You can get a beer in the concourse area and food of course. Ours is as bad as any in the land and equally as expensive. You will however have a great view and the facilities in that part of the ground are as good as you'd expect. If you guys can make a noise, then you'll create an excellent atmosphere and have a good day out.

Who is your player to watch?

For me it's Andy Reid. He's in the form of his career and despite his reputation for being a bit of a bloater, he's as fit as an Irish fiddle this time around. He's instrumental in everything good we do at present. As well assisting in many of the goals we've scored, he's found the net on 5 occasions so far himself.

Do you have any injury concerns ahead of the game?

Kelvin Wilson at Centre Half has been out with a back strain for several weeks. He was building a solid partnership in the heart of defence with Jack Hobbs until he picked up that niggling injury. He could make his return in this game, but we'll have to wait and see.

What are your predictions for this game and the season?

My memory of encounters with Bournemouth are not very happy affairs from my point of view. I remember we put in one of our worst displays ever, on a Tuesday night back in 2006, when you gave us a 2-0 pasting at your place. We were truly horrible to watch back then.

As for this game, it has all the makings of a cracker. You guys appear to be playing very well and Eddie Howe has you knocking on the door of the top 6. We're also playing very well and love him or hate him, Billy Davies has us looking like a serious top 6 side. As for a score prediction on this game, I've gone for a 2-2 draw.

One additional question, what do you think of this article in the Nottingham Post? click here.

That article has caused much debate over the past few days and it has to be said not too many Forest fans thought it was very clever. I think it was written very much tongue in cheek, but if the boot was on the other foot, I'd be praying for it to comeback and bite the author right on the arse. Eddie Howe could do a lot worse than stick it up on the dressing roomwall ahead of the game. You shouldn't need anymore motivation than that.

The guy from N Forrest Vital seems intelligent and educated, though the same cannot be said for the idiotic deluded fan that wrote the article on the Nottingham Post. You are only as good as the team you are today N Forrest and that is a team trying without success to get out of the Champioship. Eddie Howe resigned from Burnley for personal reasons, I found your comment regarding his leaving extremely insensitive.

I am sure the people and genuine supporters of Nottingham F. are as unimpressed with their local "rag" as everyone else. The Post's circulation figures have been diving for a while and the quality of journalism going in the same direction. Circulation figures: (Source The Guardian Newspaper) .. "The Nottingham Post was the biggest faller in the regional evening newspaper market in England in the second half of 2011, with year-on-year sales down 17.2% to 33,940."..........Quality is being driven down by "Churnalism" ( more content, fewer journalists ) Source: http://nottingham.indymedia.org.uk/articles/2474 ...says it all really.
