Junior Cherries on the road

Junior Cherries members will be leading Eddie Howe`s team out at some of the most famous grounds in English football next season thanks to the young supporter club`s new competition.

One member will be chosen every two weeks to walk out with captain Tommy Elphick at stadiums including Elland Road, Hillsborough and the Madjeski Stadium.

The regular competition will be run in the matchday programme, as well as on the club`s website and Twitter and Facebook pages, with the chance to be mascot for the trip to Watford on Saturday 10th August up for grabs first.

Two lucky supporters who are signed up to the scheme are already selected to be mascots for every home fixture, but Howe is delighted his team will be joined on their travels for selected games by Junior Cherries members this season.

"The club hasn`t been in the Championship for some time and it`s an exciting time for all the players, staff and supporters, young and old," he said.

"When the fixtures came out it was great to see our names alongside some of the biggest teams in the Football League and I know a lot of people will be looking forward to seeing us play at grounds like Loftus Road and Pride Park.

"We are fortunate to have great support home and away and it was an important part of our success last season.

"Hopefully, having the Junior Cherries members with us on the road will bring us some good luck and they can be part of an exciting chapter for the club."

A Junior Cherries membership costs £6 a year and entitles members to up to 50% off match day tickets, while a season ticket costs just £75.

Benefits also include a 10% discount in the Club Store and on Community Sports Trust soccer schools, plus a free replica shirt for members on their eighth birthday.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Junior Cherries page on afcb.co.uk or collected from the Club Store at the Goldsands Stadium.
