O'Kane: A challenge everyone is looking forward to

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O'Kane believes that the Cherries home form is key to any success the side can have next season.

The Cherries squad returned to training this week with the side enjoying some early pre season ball work on the Kings Park training pitches next to Dean Court.

Eddie Howe's side will be making the step up from League One to the Championship following automatic promotion last season and O'Kane believes that the sides home form will be crucial as the side aim to establish themselves in the second tier of English football.

O'Kane told afcb.co.uk...

"Our home form is going to have to be very good. It`s difficult to go away and win in any league, so you have to rely on your home form to help pick up some points over the course of the season, We spoke about the home form last season and how important it was to make here a difficult place to come for other teams. Hopefully that can continue into next year.

"We were quite methodical towards the end of last season here. It wasn`t a case of if we beat teams, it was when we beat them.

"That`s something we`ve got to try and do again. We need to be hard to beat and make teams think that if they nick a point then they`ve done ok.

"It will be difficult to do that with the quality of the teams in the Championship but it`s a challenge everyone at the club is looking forward to."
