Cook: Ward is a great signing for Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook has welcomed the addition of former Norwich defender Elliott Ward to Dean Court.

22 year old Cook made 38 appearances for the Cherries last season, playing alongside the likes of Stephane Zubar, Miles Addison, Tommy Elphick and Dan Seaborne.

Following injuries to both Addison and Elphick, Cook was also handed the Cherries armband by manager Eddie Howe.

But rather than feeling daunted by the prospect of added competition by the signing of Ward from Premier League side Norwich, Cook instead is looking forward to learning from the experienced defender.

Cook told afcb.co.uk...

"It`s a great signing for the club, He has Premier League experience and it`s fantastic for me as well because I get to learn from another player who has been there and done it.

"I always want to learn and I can when we have players coming in like that, and it`s also an extra bit of competition.

"The fixtures in this league are so tough and you never know what is going to happen with injuries and form, so it`s a great signing for Bournemouth and I`m looking forward to meeting up with him and learning from him."
