Flahavan signs new Cherries deal

AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan has put pen to paper on a new contract extension.

Last month Cherries 'keeper Flahavan revealed he was close to agreeing terms on a new 12 month contract with the Cherries.

AFC Bournemouth had previously announced that they had offered new contracts to goalkeeping duo Darryl Flahavan and Benjamin Büchel at the beginning of May.

34 year old Flahavan, was signed by former manager Lee Bradbury and has made 48 appearances for the club, but missed the whole of last season after suffering a shoulder injury during a pre-season friendly, he returned in time to make two appearances in the Hampshire Senior Cup towards the end of last season.

The 12 month contract entension has now officially be signed with Flahavan set to battle with Ryan Allsop and Shwan Jalal for the Cherries number one shirt.

Flahavan told afcb.co.uk...

"I`m really pleased. It`s been going on over the summer but there was never any doubt I wasn`t going to sign,"

"I love it here and I`ve felt at home ever since I came here. There`s a great set of lads here, the staff are fantastic and the manager has been brilliant with me, so I`m delighted to be here and hopefully I can stay for a number of years.

"When you see the way the clubs is going, it`s really exciting and everyone wants to be part of that.
