Tubbs: Howe & Tindall turned the club on its head

AFC Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has praised management duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall for turning the club around.

When Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall first returned after 21 months in charge of Burnley, the Cherries were in the relegation zone of League One, with just one victory in eleven games.

That poor early season form ended as soon as Howe and Tindall walked through the door at Dean Court, an 18 match unbeaten run saw the side climb up the table to within grasp of play-offs, while eventual FA Cup winners Wigan were pushed to a replay after a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.

Back to back defeats knocking the Cherries out of the FA Cup in the replay and defeat to Walsall was followed by five consecutive victories that put AFC Bournemouth at the top of the league within four months of Howe's return.

Five consecutive defeats however dropped the Cherries back down the league to seventh and out of the play-off places, but a all time club record eight consecutive victories lifted the Cherries back into the automatic promotion places, clinching a spot in the Championship for next season.

Tubbs told afcb.co.uk...

"It's credit to him and Jason who have pretty much turned the club on its head and got it into the Championship, The gaffer gains respect. Everyone knew of him and what he did to the club before as a player as well as a manager. He just fitted in from minute one.

"And without Jason they wouldn`t be a partnership. They`ve got the camaraderie between them which makes a good foundation for the club to go up.

'They bounce off each other and they`re a joy to come to training with and work with."
