Mitchell: Cherries off to Las Vegas

AFC Bournemouth's promotion winning team will enjoy a four day trip to Las Vegas, all paid for by the Cherries board following promotion to the Championship.

The Cherries secured promotion to the second tier of English football for only the second time in the clubs history over a week ago and while the side fell a point short of lifting the League One title, the Cherries achievements this season have been remarkable.

So as a way of showing their gratitude the AFC Bournemouth board have agreed to fund a three night stay on the Vegas boulevard.

Mitchell told the Daily Echo...

"We wanted to offer the players something to show our appreciation of their efforts and hard work this season. The trip was agreed unanimously by the board.

"It isn`t so much a reward because that will come in their careers. They have earned it for the club. Our revenue will increase as a result of promotion and, by and large, the players are the ones who have achieved it. They have all worked very hard.

"We want them to enjoy themselves and, hopefully, pick up some nice weather. We also want them to relax and reflect on what they have achieved this season and think about what lies ahead next season, which is more hard work."
