Fraser: Absolutely delighted with call-up

AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has been called up to the Scotland Under 21's squad for an international fixture against Luxembourg.

It is the first time the 19 year old Cherries winger has been called up to the Under 21's squad.

Fraser is yet to make his first start for the Cherries following his January transfer window move from Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen.

Hampered by a hip injury, Fraser has made five substitute appearances but he's targeting a return to full fitness and his first start for Eddie Howe's side.

Scotland's UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifier against Luxembourg at St Mirren Park, Paisley, kicks off on Monday 25th March, 7.30pm.

Fraser told BBC Scotland...

'...I was looking on Twitter all day because I knew the team was getting announced, When I noticed my name was on it I was absolutely delighted - so hopefully against Luxembourg I can maybe get on and help the team.

'When I get back to full fitness for Bournemouth, hopefully I can get a start, get a run in the team and see them get promoted.

'Every player wants to be at the top, playing in the English Premier League - you never know, in a couple of years we could be up there. I'm hoping to get to the Championship and then, as my career develops, hopefully I can get to the top.'
