Grabban: Still in with a shout

AFC Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban remains confident that the Cherries remain in contention for promotion from League One this season.

Grabban is the Cherries leading goalscorer with 13 goals this season.

After a slow start under former manager Paul Groves, Grabban had scored just once in his first eleven appearances for the club following a summer move from Rotherham.

But following the announcement of Eddie Howe as manager, Grabban hit a rich vein of goalscoring form, scoring 12 in his following 22 appearances.

But he has failed to score in his last six games, which has coincided with the team losing five games on the bounce.

Grabban believes that once he scores again he will be back to normal, with plenty of time for the Cherries to rekindle their promotion push.

Grabban told the Daily Echo...

'...It has been unfortunate that the drought has coincided with our losing streak so, as a team, we haven`t really scored goals and have been letting them in.

"But football changes and, hopefully, once one goes in, I will be back to normal, scoring every other week and we can start getting some goals as a team and me as an individual...'

'...We are still in with a shout of the play-offs and, if not, still getting automatic because teams are not going to win every game until the end of the season. There is still a lot to play for. The season has not gone yet."

Call me harsh but if Grabban scored these sitters, we'd probably be in the Auto zone. Sort it out Grabban, I thought you were a striker? Then again when he was at Rotheram he mainly scored penalties...
