Addison: Operation was a success

AFC Bournemouth captain Miles Addison has been told that an operation on his right foot two weeks ago was a success.

Addison hasn't featured for the first team since suffering a foot injury in November was been ruled out for the rest of the season last month after it was confirmed he would require an operation.

The Cherries captain had a bone within his tendon removed and recovery time was estimated at between eight to twelve weeks.

But despite being ruled out for the remainder of the season, the news comes as a relief to Addison as it ends the uncertainty over the injury and gives him a focus to aim for during his rehabilitation which begins on crutches and an air boot.

Addison told afcb.co.uk...

'There is a great togetherness and team spirit in the changing room that helps me with my rehab and keeps me looking forward to next season...'

'...When I woke up from the operation and they said it was a success, there was a massive sense of relief, There has been frustration along the way because of my past injury record and because I was out for three months without any real resolution, but now the relief has kicked in.

'Now I must concentrate on my recovery and backing the lads. We have ten games left and we need to go on another great unbeaten run, but if any team are capable of it, we are.'
