Howe: Arter goes through a lot of work in midfield

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe refused to criticise midfielder Harry Arter following his tenth booking of the season.

The Cherries midfielder will miss the upcoming games against Leyton Orient and Doncaster Rovers through suspension.

It will be the second time this season Arter has sat on the sidelines suspended, after being sent off earlier this season against Preston North End.

Last season he had three spells in the stands, after amassing fifteen yellow cards during the 2011/12 campaign.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Harry goes through a lot of work in midfield. He is a combative player, he tackles, he wins back the ball for us and I think his regain statistics are excellent.

"With that type of aggressive play off the ball, sometimes you are going to get your timing wrong and, sometimes, you are going to pick up bookings for fouls.

"The bookings that would disappoint me would be dissent but wholehearted and committed players who pick up yellow cards through mistiming of tackles, I don`t think can be, in any way, criticised. I think that is part of the game."

Players need to take responsible & drag Arter away from the situation. So far I've only see Elphick do that. True captain :)

...he may work hard...but what let's him down is his impetuosity and loose tackling....
