Hargreaves: They need shooting practice

AFC Bournemouth development coach Chris Hargreaves was disappointed with the 3-0 defeat to Swindon in a friendly match on Tuesday.

The Cherries named second choice 'keeper Ryan Allsop alongside first team member Joe Partington in a relatively young and in experienced development squad team.

Midfielder Josh Carmichael suffered a recurrence of his injury during the game, but otherwise Hargreaves was relatively pleased with the performance.

Hargreaves told afcb.co.uk...

"Everyone did really well, I can`t complain at the performance, but it was a case of choosing the wrong options. They will have to have shooting practice before the next game!

'...I was pleased with Ryan Allsop. He did well and it was good for him to get 90 minutes.

"So overall yes, I am disappointed with the result, but I can`t be with the performance and they will learn from it."

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe also watched the game and he told the Daily Echo...

"It was good for Ryan (Allsop) to play. It had been a little while since his last competitive game.

"We have watched him very closely in training and he has done very well since he has come in. All the goalkeepers are pushing each other very hard, which can only serve us well."
