Injury updates on Addison, Elphick & Daniels

AFC Bournemouth defensive trio Miles Addison, Tommy Elphick and Charlie Daniels are all set for long periods on the sidelines.

Cherries captain Miles Addison who hasn't featured for the first team since suffering a foot injury in November has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

afcb.co.uk have revealed that he will undergo surgery on Friday to have a bone within his tendon removed, that will rule him out for eight weeks, but with the possibility that the tendon might need repair it could be closer to twelve weeks.

Left back Charlie Daniels has also had a date booked for a possible operation on the 27th February. If surgery is required for his foot injury, he will also be ruled out for the remainder of the season as it will require twelve weeks to recover.

A final decision on the operation will be made closer to the time as the operation would require bone fragment to either be pinned or removed, following the avulsion fracture to the base of his fifth metatarsal sustained against Wigan last month.

AFC Bournemouth stand-in captain Tommy Elphick doesn't require an operation, but is likely to miss another four weeks with a knee injury.

Elphick`s initial scan following the horror tackle from Lowe at stadium:mk revealed just bone bruising, but after he returned to training and continued to suffer some discomfort, the Cherries asked for a second opinion and a second scan showed he had soft tissue damage.

I wouldnt wish an injury on any player, but it is admittedly reassuring to know that there is no danger of Addison making the squad this season at least.
