Howe: We need the fans behind us

Howe: We need the fans behind us

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has called on the Dean Court faithful to help his side bounce back after the defeat to Preston North End on Saturday.

The Cherries head into this weeks training preparing to get the promotion push back on track with back to back home games at the Goldsands Stadium.

On Saturday the Cherries host second placed Sheffield United who are just one point behind AFC Bournemouth in the League One table and have a game in hand over Howe's side, whilst on Tuesday night Coventry City who are placed just outside the play-offs visit.

Howe told afcb.co.uk...

"...We have some really important games coming up now and I know that we are ready for the challenge.

"We need our supporters to be right behind us. You could tell at Preston that everyone was fired up for the game after what happened in the week.

"Their supporters were right behind them from the start and that is what we need now because it does make a difference."

Eddie. The team should never doubt that we are behind you and them. We want sucess. Heaven knows how many times I have thought we were on the cusp only for it to be torn from us, usually by some club with a larger cheque book. There will be times when we become frustrated, that is our right as paying customers, it's a very easy game from the stands. Now is the time for men to stand up and be counted. 'Squeaky bum time' as the manager from 'that wee club' in the northwest famously says! Your record of points per game at Bournemouth is only bettered by Sir Alex, to be second to probably the greatest manager that league football in this country has ever seen is no mean achievement. No doubt another bumper crowd on Saturday, plenty of "noise for the boys". Eddie Howe's barmy army! Just keep the red flag lfying high.
