Francis: It is a tight league

AFC Bournemouth right back Simon Francis believes this seasons League One is the tightest division he's ever seen.

Despite the Cherries disappointing defeat to Preston North End on Saturday the Cherries remained top of the division over the weekend.

However with the top seven sides in League One only separated by just four points, with all the teams holding games in hand over Eddie Howe's side, none of the teams are settled into clear automatic promotion contenders or play-off hopefuls just yet.

AFC Bournemouth host second placed Sheffield United on Saturday, before the visit of Coventry City who sit just outside the top seven in eighth.

Francis told afcb.co.uk...

'...It's human nature to feel the way we do after the performance at Preston. No one though can take away the fact that we are top of the league and after this many games, it's not by luck.

'It is a tight league, probably the tightest I've ever seen it, but the important thing now that we are there is that we stay in that position.

'We have to play a lot of the teams around us starting next Saturday and we have to get back on track. We can look at it as a disappointing defeat or the fact that we have taken 15 points out of 18...'

well said francis, as i have been saying - 1 defeat is not the be all & end all, it was a minor set back & we will be judged on how we turn things around after the disappointing result & push on from here, our season starts now with most of the teams around us to play between now & the end of the season & its not a bad place to be is it!! i truly believe we will be playing championship football next season so turn those frowns upside down people!!!!! :-)
