AFC Bournemouth 'keeper Shwan Jalal has praised the Dean Court faithful after a seasons best 9,135 packed out the Goldsands Stadium.
Dean Court has seen an upsurge in attendances in recent months following the return of Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall to the dugout.
The home fans have been treated to some excellent football and the Cherries now boast the best home record in the whole of League One.
The Cherries have only been beaten once at home this season, winning 56% of all games at home (drawing 38%) and scoring on average 1.94 goals per game (never failing to score) and conceding less than a goal per game (0.81).
That defensive record has seen the Cherries keep clean sheets in 31% of games at Dean Court, although most of those came with David James in goal, victory over Portsmouth was Jalal's first clean sheet at home all season.
Jalal told afcb.co.uk...
"I feel like I`ve always had a good relationship with the fans, and when they`re cheering us on there`s no better place to be, It`s great to see them keep turning out in numbers, and it`s important to us to keep entertaining them and getting results for them.
"It`s absolutely vital that we make this place a fortress and have them as our twelfth man..."
'...It`s a collective effort and the whole team has played their part in getting those clean sheets."
