MacDonald: I believe in my ability

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald is set to return to full training today (Tuesday) after suffering a knee injury in December.

The Cherries midfielder sustained the injury during the Cherries 1-0 victory over Colchester on 15th December.

He was involved in Eddie Howe's squad on Saturday and made the trip to stadium:mk as cover, but was not involved.

This week will provide MacDonald with a chance to step up his rehabilitation ahead of the game against Portsmouth on Saturday, where he will be in contention to fight for a place in side and attempt to displace one of Harry Arter or Eunan O'Kane.

MacDonald told afcb.co.uk...

"I have said before I believe in my ability to get back in the team somewhere down the line, My main focus now is getting quite a few training sessions in and whatever happens, happens - you never know what is around the corner.

"I`ll keep working hard as I have been all along and I`ll see what comes of it."
