Thomas to join Birmingham

AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas is reportedly set to join Championship side Birmingham City on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Daily Echo have reported the striker could be set to make the move ahead of the January transfer window closing at 11pm tonight.

The forward was left out of AFC Bournemouth's squad for the trip to Hartlepool a week ago due to a possible future transfer from Dean Court.

Championship clubs Burnley, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Watford and Derby had previously been linked.

Thomas, who has 18 months remaining on his contract at Dean Court, had recently broke back into the Cherries squad, coming on as a late substitute against Swindon before starting against both Wigan and Walsall.

He has previously impressed for both Portsmouth and Blackpool under manager Michael Appleton, scoring six goals during two separate loan spells.
