Cherries complete Ritchie signing

AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Swindon Town winger Matt Ritchie ahead of the January transfer window closing on Thursday.

The Daily Echo's Neil Perrett wrote on Twitter earlier this (Wednesday) afternoon that the Cherries had made an offer of around £500,000 but faced competition from Championship sides Crystal Palace, Bolton, Bristol City and Charlton.

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio recently said Matt Ritchie was not for sale, however with Swindon facing financial difficulties and a club takeover the Cherries bid was accepted.

Personal terms were later agreed on Wednesday evening with Ritchie set to sign a three and a half year deal.

I can just imagine having Ritchie & Francis, Pugh & Daniels on our wings. With strikers who can get on the end of these crosses we would destroy this league.

What kind of message does that send out to the young lads in the dev squad as well as ryan fraser too many players, looks like many to be released at the ed of the season.

Think Fraser will push both Pugh and Ritchie, and will be great to have a fresh pair of legs with 3 quality wingers
