Allsop: Looking to challenge the other keepers

AFC Bournemouth 'keeper Ryan Allsop is looking break into the Cherries starting eleven.

Allsop recently signed a three and a half year deal with the Cherries after joining the side on a free transfer.

Despite only being 20, AFC Bournemouth are Allsop's fifth club after initially coming through the youth ranks at West Brom, going out on loan to Stockport and then signing for Millwall.

After leaving Millwall after twelve months, Allsop went on to sign a six months contract with League One side Leyton Orient.

He quickly impressed, breaking into the first team and going on to make 24 appearances.

Orient however were unable to agree a new contract with Allsop and he left the club in January 2013, signing with the Cherries a few days later.

He joins former England international David James, Shwan Jalal, Darryl Flahavan and Benjamin Büchel at Dean Court.

In the last week Allsop has been sat on the bench ready to deputise for Jalal after James was dropped from the starting line up out of the match day squad away at Hartlepool.

James remained out of the squad for the win over Crewe and Allsop aims to displace Jalal to take the number one spot.

Allsop told the Daily Echo...

'...I want to play as much as possible and I am looking to challenge the other keepers at Bournemouth.

"Bournemouth have high standards and they are flying in the league so I`d love to be a part of that."

"I`m looking to get settled at Bournemouth having played for a few clubs now and I`m delighted to have moved down here. I`m looking forward to getting going...'
