McQuoid: Great to see Pitman get a hat-trick

AFC Bournemouth attacker Josh McQuoid has praised team-mate Brett Pitman following the strikers hat-trick against Crewe on Saturday.

Pitman has now scored four goals in his last two appearances, with a goal against Walsall last week and a hat-trick at Dean Court seven days later.

He missed out on the game away to Hartlepool, with Cherries manager Eddie Howe opting to change the Cherries system following the defeat to Walsall. But Pitman responded with two penalties and a poachers finish to score his fifth, sixth and seventh league goals in nine league appearances since his return to Dean Court from Championship side Bristol City.

McQuoid told afcb.co.uk...

"It was great to see Brett get a hat-trick because you want your strikers on form, He was left out of the team on Tuesday night, but he came back in and reacted in the right way.

"He`s full of confidence at the moment and he showed that by taking the penalties. He`s not the type of person to shy away from situations like that and that`s good because we need people like that.

"He`s been working hard in training and he worked hard on the pitch on Saturday and he`s getting his rewards for that."
