Howe: No serious damage for Daniels

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that full back Charlie Daniels will be able to carry on playing through injury.

The Cherries left back was visibly struggling against Hartlepool on Tuesday night and he was eventually forced off in the final minutes of the game.

A scan has shown that there are no problems with the foot, so Howe is happy for Daniels to continue to play through the pain barrier and has refused recalling utility player Jon Meades from his loan spell with AFC Wimbledon.

Meades is yet to make his debut for the Cherries after being signed over the summer by former manager Paul Groves to provide cover for Daniels, but Howe is reluctant to recall him from regular football without giving him an active role.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Charlie has been carrying an injury for the past four games. It gradually got to the point where, before Hartlepool, we wanted to get it scanned to check that there was no serious damage to his foot.

"He has just got a slight issue with the outside of his foot. He has taken a couple of blows on it in recent games and it has steadily got worse.

"We had the scan and it came back and showed no damage at all, so playing is not going to do him any further damage, but it is uncomfortable...
