Jalal: This club is going places

AFC Bournemouth 'keeper Shwan Jalal has stated that he will never take his place in the Cherries side for granted.

Jalal won back the Cherries number one shirt for the game against Hartlepool on Tuesday night, displacing former England international David James who dropped out of the matchday squad altogether.

It was the first League One game that Jalal had featured in since the 4-0 away defeat to Swindon in September.

Shortly after that game the Cherries signed David James and after two defeats, Eddie Howe returned as manager and the side went on a fifteen game unbeaten run in the league.

But following the 3-1 away defeat to Walsall, the sides first league defeat since October, James was dropped and Jalal returned to the side.

Jalal told the Daily Echo...

"...It is something I will never take for granted because this club is going places and there is always somebody there to step into your boots if you are not doing it right.

"This club is ambitious. It is going to be looking for a certain calibre of player so it is up to me to keep my place and make the spot hard to regain for anybody else.

"But, most of all, I want to enjoy my football, enjoy playing at Dean Court and being part of the team..."
