Grabban set for scan results

AFC Bournemouth top goal scorer Lewis Grabban is set to receive the results of scan on his injured knee.

The striker who has scored ten goals this season, limped off during the first half of Cherries 1-0 FA Cup third round replay defeat to Premier League side Wigan Athletic.

He had a scan on the knee on Thursday and remains a major doubt for the Cherries upcoming fixtures.

Josh McQuoid also remains a doubt with a tight calf, which could hand opportunities to strikers Matt Tubbs and Wesley Thomas.

Thomas recently returned from a loan spell at Championship side Blackpool and has been linked with possible moves to Championship sides Burnley, Birmingham City, Huddersfield, Derby and Watford. But the Cherries are yet to receive any enquiries regarding the forward.

He started up front on his own against Wigan on Tuesday and impressed AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe with his work rate.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"I thought Wes did really well. It was a very difficult task and he got through an incredible amount of work up there.

"He showed good ability and held up the ball for us, so I thought he could be pleased with his performance."
