Francis: We go to Wigan full of confidence

AFC Bournemouth full back Simon Francis is looking forward to the FA Cup clash with Premier League side Wigan.

The Cherries make the trip to the DW Stadium for the third round of the FA Cup, with a potential giant killing and £67,500 in prize money up for grabs.

Although the defender admits that with the Cherries current run of form standing at sixteen games unbeaten with four consecutive clean sheets, he may have preferred to concentrate on the League One promotion chase with Swindon Town the next visitors to Dean Court.

Francis told BBC Radio Solent...

'...It's what's driving us on - the unbeaten run. We are 16 games unbeaten and we don't want to lose games and we don't want the run to end.'

'It's a bit of a catch 22, The form we're in we would like another league game and they don't come much bigger than Swindon at home.

'It's a massive game for us and them. But Wigan gives us a chance to test ourselves against Premier League opposition and we will go there full of confidence and hopefully we can get the ball down and show them what we can do.'
