Howe: We did everything but win

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was pleased with his sides performance at Brentford despite not collecting all three points.

Two of League One's in form sides met on New Years Day, the Cherries unbeaten in 13, whilst Brentford were unbeaten in 11.

A scoreless draw at Griffin Park extended both sides respected unbeaten records, whilst it was the first time AFC Bournemouth have failed to hit the back of the net since the 1-0 defeat to Coventry at the beginning of October.

Josh McQuoid had the Cherries best chance of the game while Wes Fogden, Harry Arter and Matt Tubbs also had opportunities to open the scoring.

Howe told BBC Radio Solent...

'I'm pleased with the point and more pleased with the performance - especially in the second half I thought we were excellent in a different way to how we have been lately.

'We had great chances in the second half. We're kicking ourselves that we didn't take one of them but I'm so pleased with the lads' attitude and commitment to the cause.

'I thought we did everything but win the game in the end. The lads couldn't have given anymore - that's all you can ask and we keep the unbeaten run going.'

Not to forget: That’s a run of four clean sheets now. If we can make it five that will be a celebration match at the Goldsands at the very least.
