Cherries squad visit Poole Hospital

AFC Bournemouth's first team squad spread the Christmas cheer this week as they visited the children`s ward of Poole Hospital.

A regular fixture in the club`s diary, Eddie Howe and assistant manager Jason Tindall took the squad to the hospital to hand out presents, pose for pictures and sign autographs.

Club chaplain Andy Rimmer was also in attendance, as the Cherries contingent remained on the ward for the afternoon talking to patients, relatives and staff, before leaving to concentrate on their preparations for Saturday`s fixture against Crewe.

'In the build up to Christmas, it is important to remember that not everyone is as fortunate as we are to be able to spend Christmas at home with our families," Howe said.

"Visiting the hospital is something I did previously when both in my playing days and during my previous tenure as manager, and it is something that we deem as very important as a club.

"It was lovely to see the children`s faces when we gave them the presents and to know that we have helped to make their Christmas a little bit more special."

The club chaplain added, "It was great to again attend Poole Hospital with the club staff and players - it is fantastic to see them make such a difference not only to these children`s days but also their Christmases too.

"The road to recovery will often not be easy, but to know that as a club we have made a difference is a good feeling.

"It was also good to see the hard work being done by the staff at the hospital, and I am sure I speak on behalf of the whole club when I wish everyone at the hospital a very merry Christmas."
