Howe: Playing it day by day with Addison

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is hopeful that Cherries captain Miles Addison will return to full fitness over the next month.

The centre back suffered an ankle injury during a training session last month and has so far missed the Cherries second round FA Cup tie against Carlisle and the league win over Scunthorpe last weekend.

Addison visited a specialist on Tuesday and it is expected that he will be unavailable for at least the next four weeks.

Tommy Elphick has worn the armband in Addison's absence thus far, with Steve Cook replacing Addison in the Cherries defence.

Howe told the Daily Echo...

"Miles has been wearing a protective boot and that will now come off, which is good news, We haven`t been given a definite time-frame for his return but it will be very much a case of playing it day by day to see how he is reacting to certain things.

"But we can, hopefully, step him up pretty soon and he won`t be too far away in a month`s time.

"If he gets no reaction then, hopefully, we can build him up quite quickly."
