AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has handed the captains armband to Cherries defender Tommy Elphick whilst Miles Addison is out injured.
Addison has been ruled out for around three to four weeks with a foot injury, leaving Steve Cook to partner Elphick in the centre of the Cherries defence.
Elphick hasn't missed a single game since Eddie Howe's return to Dean Court and the former Brighton defender deputised for Addison during the Cherries two FA Cup matches against Dagenham & Redbridge and Carlisle United.
He will continue with the captains armband and Howe praised his professionalism after making his selection.
Howe told the Daily Echo...
"Tommy has filled in a couple of times and has led the team very well. We have been very impressed with him since we have come in.
"He has a really nice way about him and conducts himself very professionally. He trains very well, he is a vocal presence in the changing room and very much a leader."
"In the main, my ideal choice would be a centre-back but not everyone is comfortable with leading people. It does take a special kind of character and we are fortunate to have two good men in Miles and Tommy...'
