Howe: We are now a scalp for most clubs

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that his side are now looked upon as one of the top scalps to take in League One.

After heavy investment in both the facilities around the Cherries Dean Court home and investment in the first team squad, the Cherries have only begun to show their potential since the return of Eddie Howe from Championship side Burnley in October.

Before Howe's arrival the Cherries had only won once in the league and were planted in the relegation places.

But eleven games later AFC Bournemouth have risen up the table to tenth, unbeaten in all competitions.

The Cherries are now just five points off the play-off places and ten points away from the top.

Howe told afcb.co.uk...

'...We are looked at as a scalp for most clubs in this division now, and that is something we are going to have to live with and overcome.

"This is a very tough game as they all are in this league. Bury were in a similar position when we played there and they made it incredibly difficult for us - I believe it will be the same at Scunthorpe.

"They work really hard and are desperate for the points. We can learn from the Bury game and attack this game better. We did finish that game quite well, but started slowly and that`s a lesson to be learned."
