Thomas joins Blackpool on loan

AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas has become the third player to depart Dean Court ahead of the loan window closing, agreeing a temporary move to Championship side Blackpool.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon AFC Bournemouth midfielder Josh Wakefield agreed a one month loan deal with League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge, whilst Mark Molesley made the switch to Plymouth.

Thomas had been expected to depart the Goldsands Stadium after he reportedly handed in a transfer request earlier this week, with the news broken shortly after the Cherries had agreed a deal to re-sign Brett Pitman from Bristol City.

With Thomas enjoying a six game loan spell with Portsmouth under former manager Michael Appleton, Thomas was immediately linked with a move to Appleton's new side Blackpool, but League Two side Rotherham had also made moves for Thomas with Yorkshire based BBC journalist Rob Staton writing on Twitter...

'Understand Rotherham have missed out on signing Wes Thomas at Bournemouth. Six figure bid was lodged...'

Thomas will make the move to Blackpool on loan until January.
