AFC Bournemouth youngster Josh Wakefield has joined League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge on loan.
AFCB Vital sponsored Wakefield made his senior debut under former manager Paul Groves when he was selected for the game against Scunthorpe in April 2012.
He impressed enough during his 30 minute appearance to be involved in the first team squad again the following week and made his home debut as a sub against Preston, again featuring for the final half an hour of the game.
He was later rewarded with his first professional contract, signing a 12 month deal and joined the newly formed development squad.
Wakefield made two further appearances this season under Groves as an extra time substitute in the League Cup defeat against Oxford and was also a half time substitute against Swindon back in September.
Wakefield joins fellow AFCB Vital sponsored Jayden Stockley out on loan after the striker joined Conference side Woking on loan until January.
Wakefield posted on Twitter...
"On the way to dagenham & redbridge to start my loan there! Excited for the opportunity!"
Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still told London24.com...
"Josh is a player I have watched a few times and when I first saw him I had the Matt Ritchie feeling (a former loanee at Dagenham),
"He was enthusiastic, bright and lively. He can play wide, centre midfield and off a forward. We have been helped by AFC Bournemouth financially and it hasn`t cost us any money to bring him here.
"I think he will be well received by Daggers supporters because of the enthusiasm he shows."
