Fletch: It feels like home again

AFC Bournemouth legend Steve Fletcher has praised returning management duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall.

The veteran striker who turned 40 in the summer believes that Howe and Tindall's return to the club has given him purpose again after being sidelined for long periods under former managers Lee Bradbury and Paul Groves.

Under Howe, Fletch has been involved in the last eight games, with a late substitute appearance against Stevenage coming on Tuesday night.

Fletch told afcb.co.uk...

"For me, they`ve been like a breath of fresh air and they`ve breathed life into the old dog, I feel as excited coming into training as I did when I first signed here in 1992, and I don`t think many people who have played as long as I have can say that. That`s all down to Eddie and Jason.

"I haven`t felt like this for a long time, probably since they left. I feel like I`ve got a purpose to be here.

"It used to be 100% about playing for me but it`s not like that anymore. Being in the squad is fantastic, but even if I`m not it feels like home here again and long may that continue."

Yes we’re all dreaming at the moment. Let’s hope we don’t wake up too soon.

...a sad reflection of what the time has been like like since EH & JT were allowed to leave. I feel sure that under Max they would have not gone....anyway we can move on and forget the dark days!
