Barnard: It's all about promotion

Barnard: It's all about promotion

AFC Bournemouth loanee Lee Barnard is enjoying the Cherries recent unbeaten run despite his lack of goals.

The Southampton striker who is on loan at the Goldsands Stadium has been first choice striker for the Cherries since his arrival on the opening day of the season, scoring on his debut against Portsmouth.

Despite making 15 appearances so far this season Barnard has only scored three more goals since his goal at Portsmouth and the forward is determined to improve his goal ratio, but also admits that the team is the most important thing.

Barnard told the Daily Echo...

"Personally, I am very frustrated at the moment. As a striker, I set my standards high and want to be scoring more goals.

"But there are no two ways about it, winning is the most important thing and it is great that we are on an unbeaten run because it is all about the team.

"When I don`t score, I come off the pitch feeling a little disappointed but know I have got to set aside my own disappointment because it is all about the team. We want to keep striving to get up the table and it is all about promotion...'
