AFC Bournemouth loanee Lee Barnard has heaped praise on strike partner Lewis Grabban, after the striker scored his first hat-trick of his career.
Grabban once again operated in the hole behind Lee Barnard against Oldham on Saturday and after a tight first half with neither side controlling the game, an 18 minute spell in the second half saw Grabban snatch a hat-trick and secure a fourth consecutive victory for the Cherries.
Grabban's first goal came when he deflected a Harry Arter strike into the top of net to open the scoring.
The second came from a clever little finish on the edge of six yard box to steer the ball past the 'keeper and the third came when he scored on the rebound after Arter's penalty had been saved.
The Southampton striker on loan at Dean Court until January has been enjoying playing with Grabban and believes he is capable of playing at a higher level.
Barnard told the Daily Echo...
"Grabs has been playing really well and it has been a pleasure to play up front with him. He is very clever, very quick and it was great to see him score a hat-trick because he deserved it. He will steal the limelight and rightly so. His finishing was excellent.
"I think he could play at a higher level because he has got everything. He is quick, strong and intelligent and he wants to learn and work hard. He has got all the attributes and, hopefully, he can play higher with Bournemouth.
"I remember scoring my first hat-trick for Southend against Orient (in September 2009) and it was a great feeling. It is what strikers strive for. We want to score goals and getting a hat-trick is a dream come true. Hopefully, there will be more to come from him."
