Thomas: Hopefully I will be in Howe's plans

AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas hopes he will be in Cherries manager Eddie Howe's plans following his return from loan with Portsmouth.

Thomas returned to the Cherries on Monday following the end of a 28 day emergency loan spell with League One neighbours Pompey.

During his time at Fratton Park the 25 year old enjoyed a goal ratio of a goal every other game (3 goals in 6 league appearances) and he returns to Dean Court confident that he can continue that form.

Thomas was sent out on loan by former manager Paul Groves after a run of form which saw him score just once in 22 appearances. But following Groves departure, new manager Eddie Howe was keen to take a closer look at Thomas as he continues to assess his new squad.

Thomas told afcb.co.uk...

"When I was here before I went to Portsmouth, the style of play I was playing is not the same that I`m playing now, I think I`ve got more of an idea now of what I can do during the game.

"I started scoring goals and once you get your first one you are confident that you are going to score in your next couple of games, and that`s what I did. Now I`m back here I feel that I`m going to be scoring goals here..."

'...I really enjoyed the month at Portsmouth but the gaffer wanted me back so hopefully I will be in his plans. I scored a few goals and I am confident that I can do that here."
