Thomas set to return

AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas is set to return from his loan spell with League One neighbours Portsmouth on Monday.

The 25 year old joined Pompey on an emergency 30 day loan at the end of September and scored on his debut against Scunthorpe.

He went on to score his second of the season against Crewe and scored his third of the season last Saturday against Shrewsbury.

Thomas' loan spell was set to end after the Sheffield United game on 29th October, while Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton was keen to extend his loan spell, however the Cherries have decided to recall him ahead of that game and Thomas will now return to Dean Court next week.

BBC Radio Solent's Twitter reported...

#pompey boss Michael Appleton says he is not happy with decision to recall Wes Thomas early especially as #afcb don't have game midweek.

Meanwhile Cherries development striker Jordan Chiedozie is set to leave on a one month deal with Conference South side Dorchester Town.

18 year old Chiedozie has impressed in recent weeks for the Cherries development squad and will now get the chance to get out on loan and will be available for Dorchester's FA Cup First Round tie against Plymouth Argyle next week.

It's a shame if he ends up warming the bench or worse still, doesn't get picked.

Good news on the Cheidozie part as he is a very promising youngster. But I can understand the Pompey fans frustraitions. I think Howe just wants to round up all the strikers to see which ones are what he needs then shift a few this January.

I'm fairly sure it's because we don't want potential competitors in the league scoring goals.
