Arter: Carlisle loan helped me a lot

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has praised Carlisle manager Greg Abbot ahead of the two sides game on Saturday.

Arter enjoyed a one month loan spell with Carlisle United in March 2011. The midfielder made five appearances for the club, scoring on his debut against Brighton.

Carlisle were keen to keep him at the club, but then manager Lee Bradbury recalled Arter and he re-joined the squad in time for the Cherries final push to make the League One play-offs.

Last season he made 39 appearances for the Cherries, collecting 15 yellow cards and scoring six goals.

So far this season he has made 10 appearances, was sent off against Preston and has collected two yellow cards and two goals in his last two appearances.

Arter told afcb.co.uk...

'...I`ve always spoke really highly of their gaffer Greg Abbot and he helped me a lot. I was only there for a month but I hadn`t played much league football prior to that so I owe a lot to him because he gave me a chance to go and get games under my belt - and I scored my first football league goal up there...'

'...He tries to get his team passing. He bases it on work rate and playing good football the right way and that`s what helped me when I went there so it will be a tough game.

"It`s been a positive start to the new gaffer`s reign and myself and the lads are confident, and we are really looking forward to Saturday."
