Barnard: Club is going places
AFC Bournemouth loanee Lee Barnard would extend his loan from Southampton if the opportunity arose.
Barnard moved along the south coast from local rivals Southampton at the start of the season and made his first appearance for the Cherries against Portsmouth.
He scored on his debut and has since netted another two times against Sheffield United and Crawley and has remained as the clubs first choice striker under former manager Paul Groves, caretaker manager Dennis Rofe and new manager Eddie Howe.
His loan is set to expire in January, but when asked about the possibility of extending his stay at Dean Court, Barnard told the Daily Echo...
"That is out of my hands and I haven`t really spoken to the gaffer or anyone at the moment.
"But I like it here, I am playing football, I am enjoying it and the club is going places, so I would be more than happy. If the chance was there, I would stay."
